Dr Chiara Frendo-Balzan graduated as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery in Malta in 2005 and practiced for two years at St Luke's Hospital before relocating to the UK to attain international exposure and further qualifications in Ultrasound.
For the following eleven years, Dr Frendo-Balzan worked in several public hospitals of high repute in South Wales in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her work led to a specialisation in the field of contraception and reproductive health whilst reading for a Diploma in Family Planning, Sexual and Reproductive Health as well as a European Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Dr Frendo-Balzan continued her specialisation in Ultrasound and is now a senior tutor on online Ultrasound courses, international masterclasses and Train the Trainer programmes.
Her extensive work in Women's Health has paved the way to read for a degree in Leadership and Management in Healthcare giving her insights into healthcare systems and organisations, as well as employee and team dynamics.
Upon returning to Malta she resumed practice in both the private and public sector within Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has gained a reputation as an approachable and open-minded professional who always seeks to empower her patients in whatever their areas of concern might be.
Dr Frendo-Balzan is also a co-author of a preparatory textbook in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is keen to share her extensive knowledge within the health care community when invited as a guest speaker on Gynaecology in a variety of events including radio programmes.
Dr Frendo-Balzan has the patients' wellbeing at heart and consistently ensures that her patients receive the best care possible.
