Experience in Menopause Community Support

Helen McGillivray is a dedicated healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience helping people through life’s challenges. With a background in nursing, she has worked in various healthcare settings, supporting individuals facing physical and emotional difficulties.

Mental Health and Menopause Community Support

For the past two decades, Helen has specialised in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is accredited by the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). She has a deep passion for supporting women’s mental health, especially around the emotional and psychological challenges of perimenopause and menopause.

ACT and a Practical, Empathetic Approach

Helen has developed a practical approach using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based method that helps individuals manage their symptoms with greater ease and confidence. Her workshops provide simple yet effective strategies that support women in navigating menopause with resilience, self-compassion, and a renewed sense of purpose throughout this transformative life stage.

Training for Broader Emotional Wellbeing

In addition to her clinical work, Helen delivers workshops and training sessions on managing stress, emotional well-being, and adapting to life changes. She is also involved in various initiatives that aim to improve mental health support for women at different stages of life.

Leadership in Menopause Community Support Platforms

Helen is currently the Director of Compass Therapy and the Clinical Director of the mental health platform OKPositive, where she continues to support individuals in improving their mental well-being.

Willingness Team – a team of over 65 professionals who come together to create innovative services and ideas, such as Sex Clinic Malta and Dating101 workshops. Willingness Team offers support through the Trauma Clinic, which provides evidence-based psychological therapies from experienced professionals in the field of Trauma. It caters to clients who experience difficulties related to PTSD and complex Trauma.
