What is Sex & Disability?
“People with disability are the ones who are touched the most but the least touched intimately” was a quote that stuck to our mind. Whether it’s acquired or congenital disability; learning or physical; we are all sexual beings with sexual needs.
Working with people with disabilities and their carer / guardians has taught us that creating the right environment where questions can be asked openly helps correct a lot of misconceptions.
If you are observing dangerous behavior in your youth and would like to discuss how to educate your youth into expressing their sexuality in a healthier way. If you have a disability and would like to explore how you can ease sex alone or with your partner. If you care for people with disability and feel that you need to learn more about the topic. This service can be of help.
We have given talks, and training to parents, carers and professionals regarding this topic. We also work with the carers and guardians to help people with severe disability be safer when expressing their sexuality.
