Dr. Gabriel Ellul is a qualified psychiatrist at Willingness, specialising in various mental health domains, including childhood trauma, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Complex PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Dissociative Disorders such as Somatoform and Conversion Disorders.
His research endeavours are focused on exploring the effects of childhood trauma on personality development, personality disorders, and neuroethics.
Dr. Ellul's clinical practice is dedicated to the precise diagnosis of mental health conditions while delving into the underlying psychological factors contributing to these mental illnesses. Additionally, he practises as a Lifespan Integration therapist, striving to establish collaborative partnerships with psychologists, counsellors, and psychotherapists to support shared clients better.
Having earned his medical degree from the University of Malta in 2015 and subsequently obtaining his medical license in 2017, Dr. Ellul commenced his specialised training in psychiatry. He joined the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK in 2019. Furthermore, he pursued a Master's Degree in Bioethics, earning accolades for his academic achievements. Dr Ellul completed his psychiatric specialisation training in Malta in October 2023.
During his training, Dr. Ellul underwent clinical rotations at the Maudsley Hospital in London, where he gained invaluable experience working with the Trauma and Dissociation Service, a renowned NHS specialist facility addressing complex PTSD and severe dissociative disorders. His exposure to trauma psychiatry and body-based psychotherapy at Maudsley Hospital has informed his clinical approach. Dr. Ellul maintains ongoing collaboration with colleagues in the UK, contributing to research, training, and clinical initiatives from his base in Malta. He is also an active member of the International Society of Studies on Dissociation and Trauma.
