The willingness team held a seminar on ‘Attachment- Raising psychologically & emotionally healthy adults’. The seminar discussed the attachment theory of parenting and how the bond parents create with their children effects their self-esteem; confidence; mental health and future relationships. The seminar also offered practical tips and examples of how to raise healthy adults. Mr. Matthew Bartolo, a sex and relationships counsellor, gave a presentation on how the parents’ relationship with their children shapes the kind of intimate relationships and friendships they will have when they’re older. Another speaker, was Mr. Karl Grech, a counsellor who explained how the way parents bond with their children effects their self – esteem and confidence for the rest of their lives. Furthermore, Ms. Claire Borg, a psychotherapist specialising in mental health, explained how through parenting one can prevent some mental health issues.
