Can you describe Willingness in 3 words?

Michaela: Professional, Ethical, Innovative

What’s your role at Willingness? What does it consist of?

Michaela: I currently hold two different roles at Willingness. That of Volunteer and Internship Manager and also that of Triage Officer/Wellbeing Practitioner. Through my first role I oversee a team of volunteers who form part of our multi-disciplinary team as well as overseeing the logistics and running of our international Internship.

As a Triage Officer I have the opportunity to hold initial intake sessions with clients and have also offered support sessions as a Wellbeing Practitioner.

Why did you choose Willingness?

Michaela: The first experience I had with Willingness was as an undergraduate student attending a 360 Conference. I instantly saw a lot of passion and love for the field of health and mental health. The team members were professional, knowledgeable and approachable and I felt like I could truly be supported within the team, knowing that clients would be greatly supported too.

What do you like the most about your job at Willingness?

Michaela: Having the opportunity to meet with clients as they take their first step toward therapy or other services. I also love attending our multidisciplinary case reviews!

How long does it take you to get to Willingness?

Michaela: Generally about 20 minutes ☺

What would you say to a colleague who’s thinking about joining the Willingness Team?

Michaela: I’d tell them that they would be very supported as a professional, and that it would allow them to grow personally and professionally.

I would encourage them to apply especially if they are looking to work with a team of people who are truly passionate about what they do and continuously aim to provide an excellent service.

What have you learnt since joining Willingness?

Michaela: I have gained many many skills which I apply in my work practices and in my personal life. I’ve learned to think on my feet, to challenge myself, how to manage my time, how to support clients through different issues and so much more. It’s honestly difficult to sum it up in a sentence or two!

Does Willingness add to your practice? If yes, what?

Michaela: Yes, Willingness undoubtedly adds to my practice. It provides a very organised and supportive structure for me to work in. It allows me to expand my knowledge and learn from leading professionals in the field. It provides extensive room for growth as a professional and ensures that I deliver the best possible service to each client.
