Lessons beyond the Classroom

When I first joined Willingness as an intern, I was eager to dive into the experience but didn’t know exactly what to expect. Now that I’m looking back, I realise how much this journey has shaped me.

I spent most of my days working with the kids at Camp Willingness and managing client tasks in the office. Being at the camp was a real eye-opener. I had the chance to help the kids with their activities, guiding them as they learned to manage their emotions and practice mindfulness. It was challenging at times, but seeing their faces light up was so rewarding when something clicked for them. Those little moments made me appreciate the impact we can have, even in small ways.

I also got to spend a day at Chat Bar, which I wish could have been more. Even though it was just one day, it left a big impression on me. Chat Bar offered a relaxed space where people could come in, chat, and unwind. I loved being part of a team that was there to listen and offer support. Meeting such a wide variety of people gave me insights I hadn’t expected. It’s something I would’ve liked to dive into more, as it really showed me how important it is to create a space where people feel comfortable opening up.

Professionals at Willingness

The professionals at Willingness made a significant impact on me too. Their level of dedication and expertise was something I admired from day one. They were always there to guide me, whether I was handling tasks or just trying to figure out my next steps. Through them, I gained a lot of insights into my field and started to really think about where I want to go in my career. The workshops were beneficial—they gave me new perspectives and helped me see the bigger picture.

Looking back on my time here, I can see how much I’ve grown, both personally and professionally. Before this, I wasn’t entirely sure what my future might look like, but now I have a clearer vision and the tools to get there. Working with the kids at camp also taught me that I have more patience than I realized, which is something I know will help me down the road.

The real highlight of this internship wasn’t just one thing—it was the experience as a whole. The sense of teamwork, the support from everyone, and the variety of things I got to do all contributed to my growth in ways I didn’t expect.

In the end, my time at Willingness was more than just an internship—it was a journey that helped me discover more about myself and my future. I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had and the people I’ve met, and I’m excited to see where this foundation will take me next.
