Christmas and New Year are around the corner. In the coming weeks we will be inundated with carols, lights, parties and festive decorations…an overload of auditory and visual stimulation that will keep us up in the early hours of our December days…How important is it to stop and savour the moment in the days to come? Is it going be go, go, go until January 2nd when we will slump on our sofas tired from the whirlwind of activities we pushed ourselves endure?
Have we become so focusing on having a ‘perfect’ Christmas with all the trimmings that we tend forget that the best gift we can give our loved ones is that of our time, love and presence? How willing are we to find moments of stillness and silence in the coming days where we can slow down and look back on 2018? Take stock of our lives, learn from our mistakes, be thankful for blessings we have and welcome the New Year with hope and new expectations.
This December, let’s take time to smell the flowers…
