On the 15th of October, Ngħidu Kelma Masterclass was held for practitioners focusing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) at the Peace Band Club in Naxxar. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on building psychological flexibility, which assists clients in moving about the environment by being more aware of and involved with themselves and their surroundings. The masterclass focused on understanding the theory behind ACT while narrowing in on different techniques that can be used with clients. The theory was complemented with practical examples and discussion, and clinical case discussion enhanced the understanding and learning of ACT on a practical level. The masterclass was led by Danica Cassar, a health psychology practitioner at the Willingness team, and facilitated by Elena Marinopoulou, a behaviour analyst at the Willingness team.
