I am an avid proponent of equality between men and women. But I am no fool and I see disparaties between genders in many areas of society. Generally, men are favoured! But not always. The inspiration for this blog came to me a few weeks back when I was strolling in a shopping mall with my daughter. She was cosily snugged in her sling, attracting the attention of passers by who would smile at her as she slept. Suddenly, a woman approached us and with a tone of humour asked, “babysitting duties, daddy?” We exchanged a brief conversation and we were on our way. When I met with my partner again, I recounted the incident and asked her if anyone, ever, asked her if she was babysitting. Low and behold, no one ever asked!

I guess inequalities are succinct, but exist still!
