A Parentopedia workshop was held on the topic ‘Sex and Porn Education for Parents’, both in Malta and Gozo. It may be a challenging task for parents, to talk about sex and sexuality with their teens due to embarrassment, feeling awkward and not knowing how to properly discuss it. Research is suggesting that we’re going through a pornification of our society. Thus, how can parents prepare their children for this?

This workshop enabled participants to explore sexual health and how best they can teach their children about their sexual development and relationships. Theory and practical tips were discussed. Participants were also given the opportunity to bring forward anonymously questions that they might have on this topic, as to make sure that everyone had the opportunity to clarify any dilemmas. The main speaker in this workshop was Mr. Matthew Bartolo, a counsellor specialising in Sex and Relationships.
